Drumbo Stockfettler, Grenadier Dwarf Warrior From the best of Julie Guthrie, Dungeon Party Boxset code 7001 (c)

Fantastic character piece from Julie Guthrie, forming just one member of the Dungeon Party Boxset from Grenadier. The complete character boxset included the following miniatures:

  • Father Rumpole, The Cleric;
  • Lone, The Questing Ranger;
  • Dawn Ether, The Mage of Dreams;
  • Jeremiah Ironsmell, The Grey Wizard;
  • Sir Pauncefoot “The Lion”, Knight of the Real;
  • Rodney Shadow, Thief;
  • Tintin Sleekil, Elven Fighter;
  • and,¬†Drumbo Stockfettler

As far as I know, Drumbo Stockfettler was only available in this set.

For me, Drumbo epitomises dwarveness: the horned helmet, bushy beard, long hair, heavy armour and weapon assortment. He’s short, but not too short, and I’ve always preferred a well proportioned dwarf to the comical caricatures the would then permeate the rest of the industry. He fits in nicely with my pre-slotta Citadel Dwarf King.

I painted this using Cost d’Arms paints, and finished in ‘ardcoat varnish.
